Officer's Campaign Writing Slope
Officer's Campaign Writing Slope
A beautiful example of an Officer's campaign writing slope.
This impressive George III piece is crafted from panels of rare Birdseye Maple, set within a stunning brass work frame.
Inside the clam shell style opening lid, lies a vibrant blue velvet writing surface. Each side hinges back to reveal two hidden document compartments. Above the writing surface inside the box are three smaller open compartments to the right, a pen storage box in the middle, and a small handled section to the left for concealing other writing materials.
There is also a discreet drawer on the side of the box, with a flush brass handle, for extra storage if needed.
This fine campaign piece has an absolutely stunning and deep set patina within the maple body. Due to its slightly larger size, the piece would suit a larger study or desk.
