A truly stunning French Rosewood Veneered Cave à Liqueur, circa 1840.

This splendid liqueur set would have been used for storing fermented alcohols and dessert wines for after dinner use. The box is made up of 4 large glass decanters, and 16 miniature glasses. All of these feature cross hatched lower halves, and cranberry glass uppers, complete with floral etching on the cranberry glass upper. It is important to note that this set is complete, and the glassware is perfectly in tact, with no chips, cracks or replacements. A rarity with pieces of this age.

The glassware is stored within a rosewood veneered cradle, and can be lifted out using the decorative brass central handle. The outer rosewood box is serpentine fronted, and sits over 4 bun style feet, opening using an 'up and over' style locking lid. Brass inlay and mother of pearl decorates the front and top of the lid with draped floral style displays.
