French Ebonised Cave a Liqueur C.1830
A wonderful French Ebonised Cave a Liqueur, with beautiful boulle work and tortoise shell detail.
The serpentine inspired front panel bears a floral display of boulle in its centre, which forms part of the escutcheon, around a turn key near the lower edge.
Revealed inside the box is a very ornate brass and rosewood cradle. 4 large decanters with cross shaped stoppers are flanked on either side by by 8 short glasses, split into two levels, making 16 glasses in total.
The outer perimeter of the box has a decorative brass edge around the top and bottom, and sits over 4 ebonised splayed bracket style feet.
