The Enfield Pattern Rifle Musket was issued to soldiers from 1853, and was the mainstay for the British Army during the Crimean Wars until the mid-1860's, where it was replaced by the revised Snider-Enfield rifle.

This beautiful example features regulation brass trigger guard and mounts, over a walnut stock. In front of the brass butt plate sits a darkened official war stamp in the grain of the wood. Behind the percussion hammer reads the 'VR' Cypher, and in front, the 'Tower' approval marking, underneath the year of manufacture, '1857'.

Overall, the rifle sits at an impressive 125cm (49.5in) long, with a sighted single .75 calibre barrel at 84cm (33in) in length.

Period: 1857

Measurements: L125cm
