A rare Charles II, Silver Half Crown, in very good minted condition.
Obverse: 'CAROLVS . II .' 'DEI . GRATIA' - Draped, laureate bust of the king, facing right.
Reverse: 'MAG . BR . FRA . ET . HIB REX' - Central garter star and four crowned shields of armed, arranged cruciform with interlinked 'C's in the angles.
Around the outer edge of the coin, there is raised lettering, which reads: 'DECVS . ET . TVTAMEN . ANNO . REGNI . VICESIMO . TERTIO' - Roughly translating to "An ornament and a safeguard" or "Decoration and protection".
