A superb Charles I English Oak Wainscot Chair. Circa 1630-1640.
This stunning chair carries a deep patination from many years of use, especially across the seat base. A simple scroll top edge gives this piece an elegant silhouette, coupled with the same scroll detail flanking the upright rear support.
The scroll theme continues down through the arms, which sit over turned supports, turned front legs and block style rear legs. United with a box stretcher all round.
